Amtico type flooring vs wood

If you chose Amtico type flooring over solid wood can you tell me why and how you like it.

I am planning on solid wood flooring in a reception room and hallway and someone asked me if I had thought of Amtico instead.

I hadn’t - be interested to know why I might think about it.

Engineered wood is better than solid wood in many cases. It can also be sanded if you buy one with a thick veneer. It is a more stable product and has much greater variety of woods available and obviously is more a sustainable product as it uses less real wood!

Karndean - its a no from me. I have a very expensive house and its just not right. I prefer real stone or ceramic for highy trafficed areas. They last a long time and with underfloor heating, it's not remotely cold. Neither is wood.
