Taps in bathshower

Fitting a new bathshower - and wondering whether the bath taps are better in the middle (easy access with shower screen) or at the shower end (out of the way when you're having a bath).

Thoughts ?!

Thats easy...ask yourself this, when (not if) those taps need changing, does the bath need to come out?
The answer is yes. Many folk make a common error by not considering maintenance access or the fact that plumbers dont do carpentry or tiling and then get upset as they had wished someone told them this before.....
: )

I'd prefer them at the same end as the shower. Otherwise, I'd be worried about getting hit on the taps in the middle of the bath while showering. It might not look very tidy either.

All sorted then! You got spanners yeh? : )

My tap is in the twist plug part. It means you never hit yourself on it. It's great

Thanks for these -
What's the 'twist plug part' priority ? is that sort of 2/3 down the bath level with plug hole?

Has anyone had them down the shower end? curious if it's a faff to lean that far over with the shower screen etc

So I have something a bit like this.
It's a tap but it looks like a round hole and it's connected to the plug hole

Sorry just to add I have Thermostatic mixer over the middle of the bath so don't have to lean through the screen.
You can put the round tap bit wherever you want (I think)

have tap in middle of bath - so dont have to reach round screen to turn on - can top up hot water in bath easy without reaching down to your feet - also bath is double end so 2 can bath - also plug hole is in middle so dont stand on it when showering

Have a bath filler attached to the thermostatic shower control, it sits in the overflow. No taps to clean round then.

We've done taps in the middle twice. DH recently managed to change them without removing the bath too. Fiddly, yes, and he did need one of us to hold the tap from the top, but IME not impossible.

The circular waste tap thing looks like a brilliant idea. Failing that I'd be tempted to go back to the end again next time, now our children are older and mainly shower. But I have no regrets about going with the middle taps when they were small.
