Metro Tiles

Hi, can anyone recommend somewhere to buy metro tiles. I'm about to fit a new kitchen and would like a tiled splashback. There seems to be almost too much choice out there. I'd like something similar to Fired Earth but without the price tag!

We got ours from Topps Tiles. Lots of choice and pretty reasonable

Tons of Tiles!

Have a read of this thread, OP. Saved me a fortune! Grin www.mumsnet.com/Talk/property/1059741-A-tile-like-Fired-Earth-quot-retro-metro-quot-but?pg=1&order=

Thanks! I love the crackle glaze tiles but it's for a rental property so given that they are a) expensive b) difficult to cut, it doesn't seem like a good option (head over heart). I'll check out both Topps Tiles and Tons of Tiles.

We have used the crackle glaze metro tiles from Tons of Tiles as our cooker splashback. The tiler didn't mention them being difficult to cut and they still look great after 3 years.

Try Walls and Floors too.

B&Q cheap as chips Grin

Have you looked at H&E Smith? They make the London underground metro tiles, gorgeous tiles, and cheaper than fired earth - although still not cheap. www.hesmith.co.uk

Otherwise, I second tons of tiles. Always found them helpful and great value.

I got mine from Topps Tiles. Assuming it is the same type you are looking for, here is a picture - En Suite in progress!

Haven't bought any recently but used to find Topps Tiles overpriced. Tons of Tiles or some other online shops are cheaper and very good.

Tons of Tiles here too - have also used Walls and Floors. For what it's worth I prefer the ones without the bevelled edge, particularly for kitchens... Nice to have a slightly contrasting coloured grout as well, like in anapple's picture.
