Hi, I am new to England (from Cork, Ireland) and having been living in Cambridge for the last 6 months. My husband has gotten a job in a school in Loughborough, and we will be moving there in the summer with our baby, currently 4 months old. It's very hard to know where to rent as we know nothing of the areas! At the moment it is just my husband working, and he is willing to commute up to 30 mins each way. Any suggestions of surrounding towns/villages? Anywhere to avoid? Seems to be nice places to rent in Glenfield, Hamilton, Humberstone, Birstall.... but don't know anything about them! Schools for the baby not an issue at the moment so at least that's one thing I don't need to worry about. Thanks for any advice!!

Loughborough itself is a nice town- no need for communting

Loughborough is a pleasant little university town, there's nothing to prevent you living there unless you're desperate not to.

otherwise look at the villages between Loughborough and Melton Mowbray if you're trying to keep the prices down and like rural living, or between Loughbborough and Leicester if you prefer a more urban feel

Barrow upon soar, Quorn, Sutton bonington and wood house eaves are nice villages just outside lough. Lough isn't the prettiest town so I'd be tempted to live outside of it .
