Paint or replace kitchen cabinet doors?

Has anyone had kitchen cabinet doors painted? New house has solid wood cabinet doors that are in good condition, but I'm not keen on the dark wood or varnish.
Would it be worth having them stripped and painted, or would I be better off replacing them? I've got no idea if the cheaper cost of painting would be worth it, especially if the finish might not be as good as a set of new doors.

I also want to replace the worktop too, so might be able to haggle a discount if I buy new doors at the same time.

If you like the style of the doors they should come up well and saves wasting them. They probably just need sanding/primer not stripping. See www.tradionalpainter.com.

The thing is most kitchens have trims, end panels etc that match the doors, that adds to the new items you need, it's not just doors.

All the top end bespoke kitchens get hand-painted so your finish won’t look any different if done properly. I’d expect it to be lot cheaper than getting new bespoke doors that then need painting anyway.

We had ours painted. They were originally light oak (country kitchen style) and we had them painted a light grey. The transformation was amazing!

You’ve convinced me Grin All the extra bits around the cabinets are wood too, so should be easy enough paint as well.

I’ll get some folk round for a quote for the painting and hopefully save some money!
