I would really love to get rid of these spotlights which are a pain to change when the bulb goes. Am told LED light are better and last longer, any recommendations?

We bought some from Screwfix which have been fine.

LED lights are much better. A lot of the time you can just change them straight over. Things to watch out for are if you have a dimmer, as that will probably need to be changed for an LED compatible one. And the colour - cool white is quite blue looking to me. I got some Panasonic ones from Amazon. Much cheaper than from B&Q or wherever.

First you need one of these tools

I battled with GU10 bulbs for 7 years until I realised this was what I should have been using! We've moved house now and don't have so many spotlights but the ones we do are led. Don't know the type I'm afraid but I prefer those with a warm white hue, a lot of led bulbs especially spotlights can look a bit bluish and cold so be aware when buying. The technology has moved on a lot so it's not as much of a problem now.

Just swapped to LED here too.

Much better, loads cooler and a ‘cleaner’ light.
