Has anyone used a part ex scheme before?

Question in title really.

Tried and failed to sell our home last year but really need to move.

They are building two new build estates near us which sound ideal and they both offer part ex. This would suit me as we hated selling plus I’m so busy at the moment so keeping the house in order was a nightmare (both work full time, husband works away, 2yo DS, 2 horses, a cat and 2 german shepherds plus keeping things immaculate nearly killed me Blush)

Am I likely to get ripped off here? What’s the process?

Are there lots of hidden fees?

The builders are Bellway if that makes any difference.

We did it years ago when we were both selling to buy a place together. Having gone through the sales process with my place we were keen to get rid of DH’s and move on; they were both too small for us and DSD. I can’t comment on how fair the process is now, but back then we got about 4K less than the going rate, which was fine given we had no estate agent fees to factor in and the legal fees were much cheaper, so prob down about 1.5k overall which was worth it for the reduced hassle (tieing moving dates etc together). You could maybe ask the builders for full details and see if it would work for you financially first?
