Grey bathroom - floor tile inspiration please!

We’re in the final weeks of our 1960’s 3 bed-semi renovation (for rental). After much much searching on my part I’ve finally found a bathroom tile we both like at a decent price – Brighton white linear (24.8cm x 39.8cm) - www.tilemagic.co.uk/tiles/bathroom-tiles/brighton/brighton-linear-white-wall-tile.html?irgwc=1

It’s actually what I had in mind all along but couldn’t find, mainly because I was searching under grey or light grey, and whilst this is called white, it’s actually more like a very light grey linear gloss.

The room is pretty small and we’ve gone for white wall hung toilet and vanity unit, with a double-ended bath and shower over. I now need to choose floor tiles – my initial thoughts are a darker grey plain square. What do you all think? Any better idea’s? Would it be best to go for matt as the wall tiles are gloss (not high gloss though)?. If any of you have images of your beautiful grey-themed bathrooms you can share that would be great, thanks!

for rental purposes I would go with a decent heavy weight vinyl not tiles. Its easier to clean (no grout) and tiles will crack, leaving you with a maintenance problem. I know it doesnt look as good, but practicality and maintenance costs should be your foremost concern.

We decided to go with Karndean in a grey parquet style. It is in our en-suite which is pretty small so although Karndean can be a bit pricey it was only a small area so not too bad. Also Karndean is so hardwearing and easy to look after and warm under foot. The walls are only half tiled, the upper half of the wall is brilliant white and the fittings are white so overall it doesn't look too gloomily grey!

I have a grey bathroom with an oak floor, which you wouldn't think would work, but does. Not the best picture, but you can sort of see how it looks.

I like the idea of a darker grey. However, get a few samples first to make sure the different grey hues work together.

This is mine - finished last week! The tile has grey/silver stripe and is gloss so not pure white. Units are white gloss. Tiles are luxdust from tools tiles but not cheap so in a rental I'd just do plain black gloss instead or black vinyl.

We tried grey slate which was my first choice but DD picked the sparkles and once I had the samples next to the wall samples I could see it would work better.

This one - Imperio White / Imperio Blanco. It took me months to find wall tiles I liked, I was originally looking for Matt white but not totally plain but when I saw these in the showroom, they jumped out.

What kind of lighting do you have in your bathroom? We have downlights which can be fairly harsh and when we renovated our bathroom recently we put light grey porcelain tiles on the wall and dark porcelain on the floor to give some contrast. However, the harshness of the lights negated the contrast and it ended up looking rubbish, like we had tried to match the floor tiles to the wall but failed. I was so disappointed.

As luck would have it we later had an issue where we needed to replace the floor tiles so 2hd bite if the cherry so to say. We've since gone with wood effect porcelain tiles (Treverkdear from Marazzi) and they look amazing, so warm rather than the cold of the grey floor we had and very happy with them.

I've got this range in my bathroom. Dark grey ones on the floor and the silver grey ones on the walls. Looks fab IMO and actually v cheap tiles!

I have similar to these on my floor - put in by developer not me. That’s not me by the way - it’s a stock image!

These tiles from topps tiles are v cheap, durable and look good imo, it's the sort of grey that can look a little green depending on what colours you put with it, they also have other colours in the range.
