bathroom door suddenly swings open

We have done nothing different to the bathroom since we moved into our house apart from decorating it, however in the last few weeks the door just slowly opens unless you 'push it too' properly It never used to do this. We've not put any heavier dressing gowns on the back of the door or anything and I'm puzzled as o what could be causing it. Anyone any ideas, and also how to prevent it happening?

If it has changed without you doing anything, it may have warped. This is common if the door is damper on one side than the other. Do you use an effective extractor fan?

Otherwise, it will be due to hinge misalignment. A joiner or carpenter can hang a door quicker and better than a DIYer, handyman or general builder.

if you were overgenerous with the paint, the door edge at the hinge side might be binding.

Apologies for not replying - I didn't realise anyone had responded to my question. I should have known you would PigletJohn, you are always so helpful!
Extractor fan is pretty good so not sure that the door has warped, but as you suggest will get the carpenter to have a look.

And thanks 3Lucky - cant get that song out of my head now Grin
