Duel fuel towel radiator/rail help please

Hi really hoping someone can help. I read on here about the advantages of a duel fuel towel rail, so it runs off the central heating in winter and electric in the summer. I went to the bathroom store and bought it asking for duel fuel...ive got the large towel rail and a heating element which the bathroom people put on my order.

Ive asked our electrician and builder about it both of whom say theyve never heard of it and it can't be done. Plumber is coming tomorrow to fit the bathroom (and im at work so cant speak to him myself) and im beginning to think that this is some new thing for them and im not going to get a duel fuel towel rail which will be gutting.

Can anyone explain to me how it works what they need to do, or something i can print out about it to leave with them?

Sounds like they must have just misunderstood what you have. Heated towel rails with an electric element included are bog standard these days. They plumb in like a normal radiator and then just require an additional fused outlet to power the electric heater when the heating system is off, controlled by a switch somewhere usually outside the bathroom. I'm sure once your plumber sees it they'll sort it

They sre not that unusual, unless they are only used to using basic diy shop stuff. other option is connect towel rail to hot water side of system so always comes on when boiler is heating water which is all year round
