We’re in the final couple of weeks of phase 1 of renovations. Week 27 now of 16 weeks which I know is kind of typical but the longest 6 months of our lives!!!
We had plans drawn up for the last phase which should be quick in comparison - well here’s hoping. But the bathroom is on the wrong side for the drains so I’m looking to change it around but struggling. Please can someone clever help?
I’m looking for 2 decent size bedrooms for kids, family bathroom and utility.

I’ve hopefully attached floor plans as it is now and new plans which need changed. Any thoughts really appreciated....

I assume bathroom needs to stay where it is, but is too small.
Steal space from potential bed 4 to make bathroom bigger, then give bed 4 a bit of the corridor back

As you can see, my diagram is not up to MN standard!

Why didn’t I think of that!! I just have no more head space left to think - thank you. The only potential problem with this is water for utility/ washing machine etc. A totally naive question but with drains on the other side does this matter as no actual toilet in utility...

Depends where waste water and sewage go now - both will ultimately end up going to the soil pipe so the lack of loo won't make a difference - you still need a waste pipe! Where's the kitchen?

You could also consider moving door to bathroom to "northern" wall as that would make access better from beds 3 and 4 and may also work better for placement of bath. shower etc

The kitchen is down the other end, the drainage on the side the existing bathroom is now and the same for ensuite upstairs. Door on the northern side of the bathroom makes sense, I’m just not sure utility can be on the other side and I’m the corner of bedroom 4 are all the electrics/ consumer boxes so not ideal for bathroom...

Move small utility to same outside wall as larger bathroom.
Have storage cupboard (marked in green) with all the electrical gubbins that you don't want to move.
Bed 3 and 4 as shown. You could stagger the wall between them to give built in wardrobe in each room.

Mentally moving walls is my hobby but I never do any in real life cos I couldn't stand the mess!
