What's a shower boss...?

It was mentioned in the survey we've just had done that the 'shower boss' was apparently missing a handle...but I have no idea what a shower boss is?

I've googled it and come up with nothing - does anyone have any idea which bit he means as I'm not sure if I'll miss it having a handle without knowing what on earth it is!

Contact the surveyor and ask for clarification.

Yes that was my plan B, just wondered if anyone had any idea...

Shower door?

TeaMeBasil · 16/02/2018 13:53

Dont think it's the shower door as he then mentions that separately....think I'll have to ring, no one I have asked in real life seems to have any idea what he's on about either!

A boss is something that stands proud I think, so on my shower it would be the bit that houses the controls of the shower (that are handles). Look at the shower and work out from where the handle is missing perhaps?

He means part of the shower controls I think, it will be either on the wall or on the taps.

Thanks all - I can't check the unit as this was the survey on the house we're buying, we're not in yet.

Doesn't sound like anything too bad as they must be using the shower while they're still there.....I've still not got around to calling surveyor so I think we'll just suss it out & fix it when we're in.

I would have thought the 'boss' was the head, particularly on those with fixed heads. (Because a ceiling boss in a cathedral is round and on the ceiling)
