Can anyone recommend a nice area to live near Middlesbrough?

Looking for a 2 bed house near Middlesbrough or south of there. Ideally not too far from the coast. I'm trying to find a reasonable area but not too expensive. Budget is about £60k.

I've seen houses for £40k but presume the address isn't great. Can anyone who lives there tell me what to avoid?

Redcar is fairly close to Middlesbrough and is on the coast. There are terraced houses there for £40-60k.

I'll find 60k houses in Redcar. Just stay well clear of queen street.

Not massively familiar with Redcar. Had an auntie (Nora) who lived there in the 60s in a massive and lovely house. Have been through a couple of times recently and ‘tis a bit rough and ready. But the people are champion. Good luck with your search.....

Redcar town centre having quite a down turn but don’t let it put you off.
It does have a nice sea front.
