How long to signing contracts

Hi, can anyone give me an idea how long it takes to have signed contracts after a mortgage valuation. We are selling our house to an investor who has had some delays. However, things have been done a bit back to front in that all the enquiries have been answered already, before the mortgage offer. Also, we as the sellars have already signed an undated contract ready for the buyer. The mortgage valuation happens tomorrow. Does anyone know how long we can expect to wait until we can have the contracts signed?

It's typically 4-6 weeks from inscructing solicitors to exchange on a freehold house.
Do you know if they have their local authority search result? That's the other thing that can take time.

We had our survey done before Christmas and exchange contracts in two weeks. So about 7 weeks for us.

Hi Minniemountain, all the enquiries and searches have been done. That’s the strange thing 🙄it’s kinda been done back to front. So all we need is the mortgage in place and we are good to go. It’s just how long does it take from mortgage valuation to getting all the info to theirs and our Solicitors in order to sign.
CurleyRover, I hope it all goes well for you. 😃

Remember signing means nothing, it is exchange that seals the deal, and completion that is moving day.

Ask your solicitor to keep you informed. That is one of the things you are paying for.
