Re-roof

Hi.
Sorry for another post on our re-roof. We contacted the council who confirmed we would need building regs for a re-roof and from what I've read, we will need to upgrade our loft insulation as part of that.

More expense but fine, it should have money on the heating.

Is there anything else we need to comply with for a straight re-roof. I don't want to go through a full application due to requiring proper drawings/plans etc which for a re-roof, would presumably be a drawing of our roof (and a lot of unnecessary expense to get it).

So happy to go through building control instead but this has a caveat that you have to be sure that you are going to be compliant otherwise you may have to get it all redone (which we can't afford)

Assuming that we have used the right sort of membrane and adequate insulation, is there anything we need to be aware of?

We are not making any other changes to materials/dimensions etc so this really does feel over complicated. Most people I speak to don't even know that they are supposed to have building reg sign off.

The contact that I have had with the council, just points me to other websites which really isn't helping me.

No wonder people don't normally tell them and pay the insurance when they move. I'm feeling stressed and they haven't even started yet. Confused
