Bury Lancashire

Any advice gratefully received! Partner and I are looking to relocate to the Bury area in the summer to start a family. We are looking at areas somewhere between Prestwich and Edenfield and not farther than sort of Egerton area in Bolton. Can you recommend any good areas for those starting a family, and the areas which should be avoided at all costs! We have also seen a house in Elton, near Bury, but unsure of what the area is like. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice! We decided to take a look at the property in Little Lever, and you're right, not so keen on the area! Was quite derelict and no life in the property. However, we drove through Ainsworth, Starling, Halshaw, and up to Tottington, such gorgeous areas, so definitely think that's mainly where we'll be looking, plus anything in Ramsbottom if we get lucky with a property. I think we'll probably move up in 5-6 months, rent for a bit while we find a house to buy.
