DIY Kitchens - Deliveries.

The delivery charges seem a bit steep, particularly if you want it unloaded too.

Do they really just turn up and leave it to you to sort out for the £75 basic charge?

Yes - there's a reason there's a sliding scale. We had to pay for a smaller vehicle too as our access is awkward. Still worked out much cheaper than buying from elsewhere. When it's a major purchase it's not worth scrimping on the delivery.

We went for the most expensive delivery option. Meant we could time the instillation to perfection. Definitely worth the extra.

Handmade Kitchens want £350 delivery from me for 3 larders and some door knobs. Cosmic eh.

It does feel expensive but still a much better price on the kitchen than anywhere else, even including delivery costs.

We've gone for the most expensive option because a) didn't fancy unloading it myself at 10pm! And b) couldn't take risk of it being a totally random day when we might not be around with 24 hrs notice.

If I buy a kitchen from them, I will opt for the most expensive delivery.
I am not strong enough to carry them in myself and if there happens to be a disaster and they drop or bash something then the onus is on them to put it right. Also they know what they are doing and will have the skills to manoeuvre quickly and carefully into the house and place or stack things safely.

Went for the Gold delivery but got a £50 surcharge for a smaller vehicle Confused

I don't see what you have to complain about tbh - it's all crystal clear on the website.
