Hi everyone

OH and I are new buyers and want to buy a hosue to do up. We found one that we could do a loft extension, put a new kitchen, new bathroom upstairs and redocurate. Anyone know much this might cost?? And Any expersience of living in somewhere while this sort of work is going?

Very roughly, an “average” loft conversion (with dormer) will cost £40-50k. A average new kitchen £10-15k. A bathroom £5-10k.
Decorating is hard to say as I haven’t seen the current state of the place; would everything need to be rubbed down, stripped back and re-skimmed, or is it just a quick paint job?
What about flooring? Does that needed replacing too? Will you choose workaday carpet at £20/sqm or engineered wood at considerably more?
If the house is a real “doer-upper” you might find yourselves needing to replumb, rewire and reroof.

It really depends on many things: how big is the place, what exactly you want to do, what is the state of the property. This is very complex work and needs a thorough survey before you get the final quote. Very roughly:
loft conversion: £35-45K;
kitchen renovation: between £15-20K (if the project is bigger you may pay more than £20K);
new bathroom: around £10K.
Redecoration of what? Be more specific with this one.
As you can see the prices can vary, so you better get a quote.
