Moving to Camberley, Surrey - any tips?

We are moving from 90 miles away to Surrey - and potentially to the Camberley-Ash-Ash Vale area, for a 4 bedroom around 400k.

I am an academic at the University of Surrey at Guildford and will look to come in 3-4 times a week. DH will have to drive to Watford.

We have currently being doing this from 90 miles away (for me) and the commute is just unreal.

We have a 2 year old who goes to pre-school twice a week with childminder rest of the time. We will TTC DC2 from spring/summer.

In these circumstances what do you all have to say about the area? Any good schools (primary for the moment as who knows what we might do by the time secondary comes along) - or nurseries/childcare in the area we should bear in mind? Anything else about the drive we should bear in mind? Remember I have been doing a 3 hour one way drive for the last half a year so nothing in particular will depress me in that context.

We have looked at other areas like Knaphill Woking St johns - plus also Farncombe etc but we would like more space and for 400k that seems to be best. How far of a commute from guildford would it be? It is a nice ish area?

Love camberley. Really nice town. As with everywhere in surrey the drive to guildford in the morning is stressful. When I used to do it I went cross country to avoid some traffic. It's a big enough town to have everything you need. It isn't on a line into London so is not as expensive as woking. Good luck with the move.

Camberley is a good idea but would Woking not be slightly easier for your husband to commute to Watford from? Also just thinking train wise if required?

You definitely get more for your money in Camberley/ Ash.
