Forest Gate E7

This is really about primary schools - I've posted in that section too but in case anyone living in the area is hanging out in Property rather than Primary Ed Grin

We're planning a move to Forest Gate and I wondered if anyone knows the area well? And if anyone had any recent experiences of schools there? We're looking at the area around Wanstead Flats, around Dames Rd, from Wanstead Park up to Cann Hall Rd. Don't think we can afford 'the village'! Though maybe one of the less grand streets at the edge.

We're in a similar area (v diverse, bit shabby) at the moment but it's much more urban and noisy. We know FG quite well, it it's hard to find parents opinions of schools.

My daughter would be transferring into reception. Woodgrange Infants, Jenny Hammond, Maryland, Buxton are the ones I've come across. Any good? Any others?

Thanks so much!

Hi Op sorry nothing to add but following with interest! We've just moved to precisely the area you describe (bordering Wanstead flats but not in the village!) from Hackney. I'm pregnant with our first baby so interested to hear from others. FWIW I'm loving the area so far!

That's good to know! Glad you're enjoying it there... was thinking I might take my youngest to some of the Corner Kitchen morning activities and ask parents there what schools and nurseries their kids go to 😁
