Renovation - floorplan advice!

We are renovating and need to decide where to put the new kitchen. We are re-doing all the house plumbing so doesn't matter where it goes from that point of view.

Floorplan sketch ideas here:

We have two options - one with the kitchen at the back of the house by the sliding doors to garden, the other with kitchen in middle by utility room. Ideally would like to keep the kitchen near the sliding doors to feel a connection with the garden, and be 'in the centre' of the lounge/dining areas, which is why we are looking at option 1. We have a separate front living room not shown on here, and it's a young family in household.

Thoughts ?

Kitchen by the windows, means you'll be able to watch the children whilst cooking, if you have bbq it's easier to get stuff from kitchen to garden rather than trailing through dining area. Only downside is I hate seeing mess in the kitchen and don't always want to tidy it away straightaway.

I'd go with option 1b

I much prefer the dining table to enjoy the view. I like the second option

They both look good. I like the extra kitchen counter space with option 2 and the big laundry/utility combined. Views from kitchen over garden are useful when children are young though.

If you have a separate laundry room, swap with larder so you have access to outdoors.

Tb, I'd need to print them off and lay them side by side to see which one I prefer.
