Good areas in Trafford, Manchester

Im thinking of moving to Flixton/Urmston/Davyhulme area for better schools and quality of life!

I’ve driven around the area once but I’m pretty clueless about specifically where is good to live, although I have seen a house just north of Trafford General Hospital. Ideal would be a semi, not on a main road, within walking distance to primary school and train station.

Budget is around £250/300k and it seems you don’t get much for your money!

Any recommendations would be a real help.

It really depends what you want. I grew up in Davyhulme and loved it. Went to Urmston Grammar School and had a great education / upbringing. Lots of social activities growing up (sports / guides etc). It was suburbia at it's best. I don't think it fairs as well as other areas of Trafford for "grown ups" - not quite the atmosphere / vibrancy of say Altrincham or the vibe of Didsbury or Chorlton but your money will definitely go further in Urmston / Davyhulme / Clifton than it does in other parts.

I think it's a good choice. Took the kids to Davyhulme Park a few months ago whilst my wife was in the Trafford Centre...really nice streets around there (Canterbury Road area). Nothing spectacular or very cool but felt like a nice enough place to live. Also, love it or hate it, the Trafford Centre just keeps growing. could be quite handy having all that within a few minutes drive....not just the shops but entertainment options for kids...play factor, chill factor, crazy golf etc etc.
