I have had this with two hotpoint machines I am sad to say it is was a fairly major part that had gone wrong can't remember which.

Ohh hope not am hoping it’s just the way I have installed it can’t remember if the drain hose should run along floor or if it should just rise strait up as it’s off a friend and she never had any issues with it and she doesn’t no which way it was installed eather

My drain pipe goes straight up from the bottom of the machine to the top before going through the cupboard next to it and down into a pipe, so I don't think that's your problem.

What happens if - at the end of the wash cycle and it's still wet - it you then JUST run the spin cycle on its own? Every now and again my machine gets through a full cycle but hasn't spun properly, and everything is soaking. If I just do a spin cycle on its own it works.

Try checking the filters aren't blocked. I have had machines that would not drain because of this.

It would probably help to have the hose go up before going over, having that long bit on the ground leaves a lot that doesn't get pushed out, which could be causing problems. Isalso run out on a spin cycle to see if that helps n
Filters are a good idea too, and make sure the connection is good.

I had a good giggle at the idea of insterlating a washing machine! Wink

Thanks I will try taking the hose to the top off the washer first any idea what I do with the extra bit off hose as it’s quite long ehh wish I could add photo it might help explain what I’m trying to say

To be honest the waste hose should make no difference. Unless it's blocked or kinked and leaking, washing machines expel waste water under pressure so they will climb a 3-foot rise easily.

It sounds more likely to be a spin cycle issue or filter issue as above. Is it displaying any error code?
