Buy To Let valuation survey

For those that have taken out a BTL mortgage, how long was it between applying and the valuation survey taking place?

After the valuation survey, how long then to get everything in place?

We’ve been waiting 3-4 weeks and still no date for survey.

Didn’t realise this was going to be on the ‘frustrating things about buying/selling a house’ list!

Have you gone direct, or are you going through a broker. Which lender?

We are going with Barclays through a broker.

3-4 weeks seems excessive, but normally Barclays underwrite you before the property so as not to spend your valuation money before knowing if you're a good risk. Normally once survey is back it is 48 hours to offer.
