Best colours for North facing kitchen?

I have a kitchen diner that has north facing Windows and north west facing patio doors.

I'm trying to choose a colour that will add warmth and light to the room. Our kitchen is cream gloss with red metro tiles as a back spalsh. (We would ideally like to replace the kitchen but I'm in two minds as it's possible we will be moving in a year or so)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What about one of the whites that has a bit of pink in it to warm it up? Valspar have a range of these.

(Just to be clear, I'm NOT advocating a pink!! That would be horrible. I'm advocating a warm white!)

Thank you whisky I have tried white (timeless) but my living room is white and my entrance hall is white/magnolia so I'm worried it might look a bit plain?

Can you add a splash of colour with accessories /window-dressings /art? It hard to think of a colour that won't compete with the red. How about colour matching your doors and go one shade lighter? Also can you change light bulbs for warm LEDs?

This is why I find cream so tricky. With cream already there taupes and whites are tricky, and with the red already there I wouldn't want to introduce anything strong on the walls. I'd also steer clear of grey in north facing rooms, on the whole.

This is very old school but how about some plants? Fake ones even. Would bring a brighter splash of colour and life without needing to be beautifully coordinated. Maybe a nice big floor standing one mirrored by a couple on the window sill.
