Hi. We are just in the planning stage of our extension and are struggling to work out costs. We understand all the extras that come on top of the builders quote but figuring out what the builders quote might be is challenging us. Do you think it is better to ‘go big’ with our design, get quotes, and then, if it’s too much, see how we can reduce the size of the build/quote. Or do we ‘go smaller’ and then, if we can afford it, see if we can up the size (eg go out another 1m for the extension)/quote to what we can afford. Basically do you think it is better to add costs on, or take them off a quote, when the changes are purely due to the size of the extension (not what’s going in it). Any thoughts on pricing up an extension would be great. Thanks
