Woodburner first or flooring first?

Hi all Smile

Some advice regarding which order to do this in would be much appreciated!

We want to put wood flooring in the lounge and also install a woodburner with hearth. Is there any particular order you should do this or does it not really matter?

I would put the hearth in first, then fit the wooden flooring around it

Wood burner first then flooring.

Definitely wood burner and hearth, then redecorate and flooring last of all.

We just did this and the the stove man recommended flooring first.

I would be worried about any laid flooring settling.
At least if the heart is in first (and set) you have a firm base to work with and no shifting of pipes over time.

Just had a quote for wood burner today and asked this question. He said definitely do hearth first, then flooring.

We’ve just put a new woodburner and hearth in. The hearth was fitted first then our carpet was cut and relaid.
