These tiles?

I'm building a house and thinking about these tiles for utility and downstairs loo.

I'll be playing it safe in the rest of the house with Oak floors, so could go a bit more mad with tiles.

Will these date? I hate tiles in general, but quite like these, esp if the rest of the room is plain! Also, they will require sealing as they're cement tiles, will that be a pain long term, would they stain?

Thanks

I really like this style of mismatched tile BUT check if they are printed on. It can look really Cheap. Order a sample if you can

Thanks guys.

I have actually spent a weekend at the house that I posted above. They had the tiles across a large hall and in the bathroom too.

I think they are far from boring but I suppose I'm worried I'll get sick looking at them.

I definitely wouldn't leave the pattern to chance, I'd be laying them out and putting the ones I hated under the utility units :D

We have something similar

It won’t dare if you have the rest of the bathroom to match in I’d say

Oh and you choose and layout the pattern!!

I've just ordered them for my bathroom wall.

EnidButton · 13/01/2018 03:04

I absolute love them but they are everywhere atm. Instagram is heaving with them and I'm sure I saw some all over a ground floor in a house magazine this month. So they will date.

That said I think DadSussex's bathroom looks bloody gorgeous so I'm no help really. Grin

DryHeave · 13/01/2018 03:10

I think they’ll date badly & tiles are not a quick/easy thing to re-do.

brizzledrizzle · 13/01/2018 03:11

Go for it, they look wonderful. I'd love those in my house.

brizzledrizzle · 13/01/2018 03:17

How easy would be to use them to refurbish a stone hearth which I hate ?

FacelikeaBagofHammers · 13/01/2018 19:36

Lovely bathroom Dad!

If I wasn't going for these, I'd probably go with a large, grey concrete look tile (similar to main bathroom and ensuite). Which are lovely. But I suppose it'd be nice to go with something a bit less safe for a room that no-one is going to see anyway :D

Love those Punk! What are they called?

jamaisjedors · 13/01/2018 21:00

I have always loved those type of tiles and they have been having a "moment" lately but I agree they will date unless you Love them, in which case you won't care.

Do you love them or just quite like?

punkpuffin · 13/01/2018 22:38

Enid I think they are called patchwork tiles. We ordered them off Victorianplumbing.com

EnidButton · 14/01/2018 05:34

Punk Thank you Smile

MiniCooperLover · 14/01/2018 08:05

I think they will date but in a good way. They’re lovely, if you like them go for it.

Badweekjustgotworse · 14/01/2018 22:54

Thank you OP I hadn’t looked at that site before and they have my all time favourite tiles much cheaper than the local place I was going to order from so you’ve just saved me a couple of hundred quid! FlowersGrin
