Insulating a conservatory with multifoil

Hi there,

Has anyone done this to a polycarbonate roof? If so, did it help to make the room more habitable? We’ll insulate the walls and floor too and have a couple of radiators.

Most importantly though, does it help with noise reduction? We don’t mind the noise from rain but it’s more the noise from the neighbours outside in the summer. At the minute you might as well be outside so if we made it part of our kitchen it would be a bit annoying.

Any advice / expérience much appreciated.
Thanks!

Do you mean the space blanket stuff? For a conservatory? If so, I highly doubt it would do much apart from cutting out light.

That won't be enough to bring it up to building regs for a kitchen. You'd be better off knocking down and rebuilding to structural and insulation standards
