Cost of structural surveyor visit

Hi - I need a structural surveyor to visit my old house, look at a couple of issues and make some recommendations. I am not after a full survey of the house.

How much is reasonable for them to charge? Being told £500 which feels steep!

I paid £400 for a full structural survey in east Mids.

I got a quote this week for a 1 bed cottage for £750.00 for a full building survey, £485 for a home buyer report. Shock

Depends on what your particular concerns are. If it's about subsidence it might need a hole to be dug to check foundations. That could be a thousand or more.

Thanks all - very useful! These costs really mount up, but should be worth it!
