Sorry yet another leaving London thread.🙈
We are seriously thinking of making the move up north for a better quality of life. I came to London nearly 10 years ago with the intention of only staying for 1 year, but amazingly have ended up being here for nearly a decade. During that time I met my now husband, had 2 children and have set up a great circle of friends; however, living in London is becoming harder and harder for us to afford/manage.
Edinburgh is my hometown, yet weirdly I am the one who is more hesitant. As much as I dislike the pollution, congestion and expense of London, i’d really miss the friends that i’ve made down here and don’t exactly relish the thought of having to in some ways start all over again (some family and school friends have also left Edinburgh). The other negative is that we’d be far away from my inlaws (i’m Lucky I can say that!). My eldest has not started school yet, so now would be the perfect time to go if we were to do it.
Be interested to hear from anyone else who has made a similar move.
