New build - upgraded kitchen

We've put an early bird reservation on an off plan Bovis house and should be proceeding to reservation this month and then exchange. Just wondering if anybody can give me a ball park as to how much they charge to upgrade the kitchen from the one included and how much they charge for granite/upgraded worktops?

And is there any chance of us getting that included in the price? We know we'll be paying asking price because it's so popular so trying to weigh up what to bargain for! Grin

It will depend site by site

The sales office should be able to tell you without any fuss

Just beware of Bovis at the moment. We have one that is less than two years old and basically needs rebuilding - and we are not alone.

We went for it because we loved the layout and thought we’d deal with the issues.

They have not challenged anything that needs doing - but not being able to decorate because all the ceilings need bringing down to be relevaled and joists correctly supported (that’s just a couple of things outstanding) and moving out for 4-6 weeks for them to correct wasn’t on my list and have never dealt with anything like this In 6 new build homes. As I say I’m not alone. Check out this Facebook page before you go ahead. If your still happy - good luck

Thanks, I've seen the group. I am really torn because we love the idea of the house (very practical for our young family) and there's been nothing to buy in our area for months. But I've also seen Bovis' reputation! I have raised it with them saying we're concerned and their response was that they acknowledge they were building houses too quickly and not to a high enough standard so they've cut right back on the numbers being built and made the timescales more realistic. Not sure whether that's 100% truth but we haven't fully committed yet!

Thanks for the heads up. I hope they get your house sorted ASAP. It's disgraceful that you and so many others have been put in this position.
