How to go about looking for a new build?

What is the best way to go about looking out for new developments as they spring up or released? Is it just signing up for updates with all the developers?

We are looking for a 1/2 bed but these seem to be gone straightaway so think we need to be ahead of the rush!

Register with developers telling them the areas, price and size you're interested in. That way you might be able to get something off plan or before it goes on rightmove. I think it's often the case that you get the best price either at the very beginning or the very end (I.e. You buy one of the first or the last houses on the development).

If you're after a specific area keep an eye on planning permission approvals
