Hi,
My shower is beyond rubbish. I rent and have had the plumber out so many times for issues I fear asking again! My friend says it's quite easy to change the pressure myself..does anyone know how (she has a different set up to mine)?!

no, it isn't easy to do it yourself, unless you are a plumber and like digging up roads.

Your shower can only deliver the flow (amount) and pressure that is delivered to it. Have you got a hot water cylinder? What colour? (this is not a joke)

You can unscrew and descale your shower head in hot water and descaler, which may remove limescale blocking the holes. If you like the smell, you can use vinegar or lemon juice instead.

Thanks. A friend did hers, her plumber showed her how to adjust it but I wouldn't know where to start! Nothing wrong with the shower head as new bathroom. The tank is blue?

OK. You have low pressure hot water, probably supplied from a cold tank in the loft. The cold supply to the shower is (should be) at the same low pressure. You can't change that, unless you fit a pump, and it is not adjustable. Your friend might have had a combi boiler, or a white tank, that had (perhaps for economy) been regulated down somehow..

You can try a shower head with fewer, larger holes. Some heads can be rotated, or have a lever, to block and unblock different sets of holes. All shower heads have a standard screw fitting so you can change them if you want.
