So we're doing a massive rebuild and extension and we are at that fun stage like in Grand Designs where the cash starts getting tight and I have to send my husband up on the roof to act as labourer (over dramatic...).

But we are also at the fun stage of fitting it out with tiles, bath suites, taps, lights, work tops.

I previously used a great link to buy a kitchen tap - now known as the Mumsnet tap - and thought we could help each other out with bargains we've found. Obviously everyone's budget and style differs but could still be helpful?!

My bargain then is the Gicasa kitchen tap that gets great reviews from Amazon

I give you the Tons of Tiles white metro tiles. Exactly the same ones as stocked in Fired Earth from the same factory in Spain. I heard about them from a Mumsnetters and got samples from both companies. Exactly the same but so much cheaper. Smile

Joining in as we are at the same stage. There are some cheap bits on bathstore if you need bathroom bits.

Homebase has clearance on solid wood and engineered wood flooring. Check instore and online but i got engineered wood for £6 per metre this week.
Then i went to the other store and bought some at £8 per metre.
Saved around 1k so far on flooring.

I think Tons of Tiles for all tiling. Tapwarehouse.com for kitchen sinks & taps. eBay for most things;) We're looking at DIYkitchens which seem to have great reviews everywhere; solid wood, fully assembled works out cheaper than Wickes on sale.

Ooh liking the tiles tip. Just looked at budget tiles section and some good stuff. I'd been looking at Wickes and ordering by lowest price and checking per m2 too. Found some grey tiles there about £12.99 per m2. Wish more online stores had this order by ascending price facility as I know I can get to my top budget and not keep looking once I've hit that price.

That is a bargain for engineered wood.

Checking out taps too.

So my tips this week include Heat and Plumb for sanitary ware, the tiles in Wickes I was going to order are no longer available but seen some nice concrete effect ones in B&Q and then Amazon or eBay for everything else!
