Hi,
I am planning to move to SE London and I want to be around Eltham, Bexleyheath, Welling or Barnehurst. The reason I chose these places so I can be in a good catchment area of Bexley, Beths and Dartford Grammer, so can someone please suggest which area is better to live and if there is any other place around (must be in all three grammer catchment).
I am bit confused, my DS is in year 4, I do also need to sort out primary as well but I would prefer if there is any indi around there or nice and decent state will also be fine. I am moving from Nottingham as my DH got the job in London. My budget is around 500k and looking for min 3 bed.

Thanks in advance..

Ani

For entry to DGS then none of the areas you mention are ideal. It is a Kent school, rather than a London borough of Bexley school, and prioritises boys in certain Kent parishes. To get in from outside of those areas then a child has to 'high score' in the 11+ rather than just pass and the score required fluctuates each year.
I guess bexleyheath would be a good mid point for Beths and BGS and would mean taking the Bexley 11+.
How likely is it your son will pass? Best to look for somewhere with great non-selective schools too, which can be hard in these areas.

@blametheparents: As all parents would suggest, I dont know if he will pass or not but I can try to get him into one of these and prepared for private tuition as well but again even he will pass, it will be upto him if he wants to go to grammar or not.
I know DS would have to appear in two exams but again, I can just hope and try...Smile

Thanks
