Have you tried doing Houzz or Pinterest? Thousands and thousands of photos.

GoingRogue · 22/12/2017 18:08

I'm on Pinterest, have tried searching for various things. I'm yet to see anything I really like. Used to have the Houzz app but deleted it ages ago as took up too much space on my phone. Will have another look now Smile

Here’s mines. Tiny and not very fancy, also still to be replastered/painted on two walls, but I love it so much compared to my old one Smile

I’m not brave enough to post a photo in fear of being outed but I have 3 free pieces of advice for you!

  1. don’t use Bathstore
  2. upgrade your taps and shower fitting. our last ones started to rust
  3. if you’re putting a shower in I can recommend the Simple Human shower caddies. We’ve got this one www2.simplehuman.com/uk/tension-shower-caddy-stainless-steel-anodized-aluminum and I admire it every time I shower
MissOrganisedMe · 22/12/2017 20:56

Following. New year job!

BubblesBuddy · 23/12/2017 01:23

Get back copies of KBB. Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom. Look at web sites of manufacturers. What size of bathroom? What budget? £2000 or £20,000? I have both in my house!!!

GoingRogue · 23/12/2017 08:13

Biscuitsbathroom yours looks lovely! Love the feature tiles over your bath, I'm hoping to do that too Smile

Whatsthisabout Gah! We were indeed going to get everything from Bathstore! What's wrong with them? We will be getting new taps and shower Smile and thank you so much for the link to shower caddy. We are having a shower over bath, but although it wouldn't work for us I have been panicking about storage solutions and hadn't thought about a caddy Blush So it is now on my list Smile

BubblesBuddy it's me ! (You are already being very helpful on my other thread - thank you).

How many smileys?! Whoops.

Forgot to say, spent a while on Houzz and Pinterest last night and most bathrooms are very extravagant/huge/tiny/different etc. Hence wanting to see "normal" bathrooms.

Mine is 2.5m long x 2m wide and budget is approx £5k.

I think baths store stuff is ok, just avoid taps from them. It is always worth spending more money on taps, they work better, last longer and make the bathroom look more smart.

Tillymintsmama · 23/12/2017 19:19

biscuits that's lovely; would you mind saying how much it cost? I have a £3500 budget for a new bathroom and a couple of snotty posters in a thread I started seemed to imply it was a paltry budget....

Whatsthisabout · 23/12/2017 20:34

going with Bathstore it really depends on your allocated fitter I guess. Ours was rubbish and practically everything had to be redone. And agree the taps are rubbish!

Whatsthisabout · 23/12/2017 20:36

tilly that is quite a small budget. We’ve had 2 shower rooms done and both cost about 7k. Half for the stuff and half for fitting

Biscuitsbathroom · 23/12/2017 20:37

Tilly, thank you.

I would have had plenty of change from your budget.

Labour (rip out, install suite, false ceiling, spotlights, underfloor heating, and tile) was £1500, which included the underfloor heating kit and lights). All done by the one guy. He got an electrician in just to wire up he UF heating controller.

My bath, wc, sink, taps, screen, radiator, came to £650, from Wholesale Domestic and using the plumbers trade discount. Shower was separate, about £120. Shelves, £100ish.

Tiles and grout, £400. I only got the bath and sink area tiled. The remaining walls still need plastered and painted.

So cheap, but cheerful. That’s all I needed for the next couple of years.

PlayingGrownUp · 23/12/2017 20:39

@Tilly we had our entire 1980s bathroom ripped out, new walk in double shower with panelling, floor tiled, new sink, new toilet and walls plastered for £2500. Hopefully that helps.

venys · 23/12/2017 20:43

Don't go QS Supplies either.

SwedishEdith · 23/12/2017 20:46

Our bath is from BathStore. It's good, I like it - plain and simple and wider than standard. They didn't fit it though.

Bathbathbath · 23/12/2017 20:51

So this is our Bathstore tiling. Wonderful.

GoingRogue · 23/12/2017 20:54

We're not getting it fitted by Bathstore. I used to work for a medium sized local builder who are sending their most experienced plumber (who can fit and tile; he'll do most of it himself as been doing it all his life).

Lilliepixie · 23/12/2017 21:03

I've had 3 bathstore bathrooms
Products are fine- didn't have their fitters.

Fatbergs · 23/12/2017 21:12

Hi, just wondering what sizes your bathrooms are? Mine is only 2.1x2.2 and I have no idea how to fit in everything. Does anybody know of a decent online design app?

GoingRogue · 23/12/2017 22:07

Biscuitsbathroom wow. You did a brilliant job of getting your bathroom done so cheaply! Did you shop around loads? We are hoping to stay in this house for ever, so there's so much more pressure to get it right.

Lilliepixie thanks so much for posting those - are they all your bathrooms? Good to know Bathstore products are good quality.

Fatbergs mine is 2m x 2.5m so not too dissimilar. Have attached our floor plan and a pic. It's so hard eh?! An app could help Smile

@SwedishEdith which bath did you get? We're looking at the Pool Thermaform from Bathstore.

Lilliepixie · 23/12/2017 22:15

The one above with the dog is only 1.8 x 2.4.
The built in storage is great. All the toiletries/towels/extra loo roll.

The other 2 pics are the newly finished ensuite. The loo and sink aren't actually bathstore but the shower is.

1haudyerwheesht · 23/12/2017 22:23

We did ours last year.. very simple

There is floor to ceiling storage behind the wall that the shower is on. It's fabulous
