Hi
I was wondering if anyone had used John Ladbury in Welham Green, Hertfordshire.

I have seen @OnePlanonHouzz recommend them (which is like @PigletJohn recommending a boiler or Sarah Beeny telling someone on Property ladder that they really shouldn't paint their house in polkadots!) but the poster thought they looked too expensive so nothing more was said.

We have had a kitchen designed by them and price wise for their handbuilt inframe wood doors and 18mm MFC carcass cabinets we are being quoted about the same as a Burbridge kitchen built of the same materials but not bespoke (and available online for a lot cheaper) and a Kuhlmann kitchen which is not inframe and has 16mm HDF doors and carcasses.

I guess I am wondering whether these products are comparable and are we being mad to even be considering spending so much on any of the kitchen companies when we could get something relatively similar from DIY kitchens.

Thanks in advance for any advice I am so confused everyone obviously claims that theirs in the best product and this is the first of a million decisions we need to make!

Hopeful bump...

Although now thinking an expensive kitchen before children might be a mistake... Will I regret my lovely tulip wood doors when I have a toddler bashing them with toys and slapping jam into the hinges?

I don't know anything about John Ladbury kitchens, but I have a Burbidge kitchen and love it. Fitted in March. It's the Kew design in Alabaster. Very well made, and some of it customised, the little shelves in the corner and a unit for the boiler.
