Loo with built in basin

We need to replace our loo soon. Its in a very small room by itself and there is no way we can also fit in a basin. I've read about the loos where there is a basin and cold tap built into the cistern and wondered if anyone here has got one and what they think about it.

(I'm not totally convinced about the tap only being cold water but our hot water pipes are some distance away anyway; and I figure that a cold water basin is probably better than none, not least because visitors blunder into our bedroom trying to find the bathroom)

I have used them in Japan - wasn't a massive fan but better than nothing to wash your hands.

Ours is like the one in my link, managed to get it connect to hot water too, it’s fantastic, we have a separate toilet room thats tiny so this was a great find. No separate waste needed either as drains into the cistern. Mine was from ebay but can’t remember the seller

I have the tiniest downstairs loo. Was a cupboard. We out in a small corner loo and tiny corner sink. Have attached photos. I think. Would this work. ?

I’ve only seen these things in shops and found them pretty awful-looking. But having no basin at all seems a little gross so in your position I’d go with one these loo-basin combos.

I'd go with a tiny corner basin. You could solve your hot water problem by fitting one of those small electric water tank things, just a 1litre or something. My gas fitter has one in her en suite and recommended them to me before I realised how straightforward another solution was.
Could a corner toilet add some extra flexibility to the mix?

My downstairs loo has a hot tap but it’s connected to the cold water supply. It took me about nine months after moving in to notice! So you’re probably ok.

alternative would be to fit a corner sink slightly above the cistern. doable but a bit fiddly with the water supply.

Have you found the absolute smallest toilet possible because there are some really tiny ones which might help with fitting the sink.

Also what if you put the cistern really high up like old fashioned ones would that help

That kind of thing only really works if you only use the loo for guests-if you have small children (or an innattentive husband) using the sink the water just gets everywhere.

Ohmygoddd I'm not sure a small loo.would.work with my er larger bottom!!
Restinggrinchface I have a SN teen. Mess is normal (and usually worse than water)

I wonder if the diagonal arrangement would work. The space is very tiny so I really don't see where we could fit a separate basin without it being in the way or.neing leaned on by sn teen (hes wobbly) and being pulled off the wall.

in one of the 'tiny home' series they actually put a corner sink on the wall to allow the door to open.

I have a teeny tiny basin in mine. It measures about 8 inches by 15 inches. Pic attached and I've put a loo roll on the side to indicate the size.

I like it though as there is now a little room to move to get to sink. I wasn't going to bother with hot water but since the plumbing was exposed next door we got it done and it was a minor job. But the water won't get hot enough anyway for the time it takes to wash your hands. It certainly seems to be working for us, as we have young kids and previously the door opening blocked the entrance to the bathroom so it put them off going in there to wash hands. We wouldn't have really had room to put a separate basin in as the WC width is so narrow.

Ooh one thing is that it only JUST fits the soap dispenser. I might put a small shelf up beside it. Can't put on window sill as kids won't be able to reach.

we've put the soap dispenser on suction cup soap holder on the side of the cistern.
