Back to front taps?

Kitchen tap just been put in, like this.

The levers push back to turn on. This feels wrong to me. Is it wrong wrong or just a matter of choice? Should we get them to change it?

We have tap something like that they are turned on by pulling them forward. I would say that have put them on wrong. What do they say on the little knobs on the end? Mine say hot/cold so if they were on back to front they would say the wrong thing.

Push back to turn on means you can turn them on with the back if your wrist by pushing, meaning easier to do with dirty hands.

Yes, get them to change it. The kitchen tap at my sister’s old house was ‘backwards’ like you describe and every time I used it I drenched myself pushing them backwards to turn them off, which actually turned them on fully and shot a jet of water bouncing off the sink. Maybe I’m just not very bright, though!

That’s a good point about the H C labels but DH says they probably screwed them on independently afterwards, so not conclusive.

I think maybe they do need changing. Thanks everyone.
