Hi there, does anyone have experience of engineered wood in the kitchen? Is it a disaster?! If so, i’d love to hear other suggestions. I’m clueless! Thanks

I was going to get engineered wood but I went to view a friend’s new kitchen (6mo) and they were not completely happy. The area by the hob had had been stained with oil splashes.
We have decided to go with Amtico luxury vinyl looking like wood instead.

@QuitMoaning thanks for that. Which colour amtico did you go for and are you happy with it?? The other (cheaper) option is quickstep but worried i’ll hate it.

We have gone with tiles which look like wood.

Ours is a beautiful warm reddish brown color and everyone thins they are wood.

@MrsMontgomerySmythe where did you get them from? We’re probably going to go for more of a natural oak colour but they sound good!! Thank you!

Our builder ordered them from Italy. Fairly reasonable cost.
Don't know the make (can look tomorrow) but the model is cottage olma.

I've had Quickstep in the kitchen for 7years. Mine looks like slate tiles. No problems with it so far.

@Mosaic123 that is great to hear - thank you!

Haven’t got anything at moment. We are waiting for living room to be decorated and then we will replace all the flooring. Probably January by the time we get there. So at the moment it is just wooden sheeting.

We've just had Engineered wood flooring installed in our kitchen. It's only week 3 though, so too early to report back on how it's faring.
Amtico/Karndean would be a good bet, although at a similar cost to the engineered wood. We couldn't find quite the right design in the end, so ended up with the wood..
