Eclisse Sliding Door -- door choice

I want to use Eclisse Sliding door system. My builder told me that the door (that we use with the system) needs to be hardwood inside, not a chipboard. Most of the doors online have engineered core. I am not sure whether that's good enough.
The builder told me that he would need to screw 6cm into the door from the top. Anyone used Eclisse pocket door system? What type of door have you purchased?

I have and your builder is wrong.
i have a veneer with core - been up over 4yrs
tbh i was very dissapointed with the frame etc for what it cost, 400 or something.
could have built my own out of wood and just got the slider and softclose sep.

Why were you disappointed? Yeah, I think single system is like GBP380.

The frame/casing was just some very thin aluminium to attach plasterboard to. This could have been easley constructed and made more sturdy out of wood for £20 if that.
The rubbers they supply are brown - cant paint them so i didnt use them as looked horride with white paint work. i just put some transparent door duffers on the wood work. same on the bristle things.
The product is nice, still not just a quick plop it in, requires work with great instructions (not) if i knew what was involved and how easy to do my own (as any builder can do) i would have just purchased a top door runner, £40ish - soft close £30ish as it is the same set up as a sliding wardrobe.
The soft close is an ontop cost with Eclisse but very worth it.

We got the frame/kit from screwfix for £130 & used an old door off eBay!! Your builder isn't right (sorry). Unless does it need to be fire rated?

We have the pocket door on our Ensuite, used a door to match the rest of the house from B&Q no problems at all, it slides beautifully.
