Have you had internal doors fitted?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to have 2 internal doors fitted.

One from kitchen to living room, a half glass one and one on the boiler cupboard which will be a bi fold door due to space restrictions.

What is an average price to pay to have a joiner fit these? And does it include fitting handles?

Sorry if I sound like an idiot, I've no idea what is a reasonable cost! And nobody I know to ask had had this work done.

I want an idea before I ask for quotes so they don't have my eyes out!

Thanks in advance

I've been quoted £55 per door
I ended up paying £40 per door that included taking off old doovand ganging mew doors including fitting handles, and taking away old doors

That seems cheap. Took my joiner 1 day to do 2 so that's £100 per door. The frame/architrave etc was more. Depends also if the doors need cutting down and whether you need handles/locks etc fitting and the style of them.

I learnt how to do it myself, not too tricky with the help of YouTube videos. Have done 4 in my house so far Smile

We provided the doors and furniture and carpenter charged £40 a door to fit them. That included them being cut to size. Very recent price (early this month) and South East, I know sometimes there can be regional variations in pricing.

Very reasonable! I've had one response for a quote of £60 for a normal door (hasn't stated if this is including handles) and £70 for a bi fold. I thought this was quite expensive!

the price should include fitting the door furniture, but not supplying it.

You should choose what you like, and pay for it.
