What lighting would you put here?

We have just knocked through a bonkers layout to create a corridor running through the house.

Its 12m long x 2.1m wide. Two lightwells in the ceiling and one small window halfway along.

In the end it will have white 60cm x 60cm gloss white tiles on floor, white walls and one side of the corridor will be lined floor to ceiling with fitted bookcases.quite a clean, minimalist look.

3 lightpoints going down. I think marie terese type things might look twee, I don't like those fixed spotlights. Apart from this not sure where to start.

What about recessed trimless plaster-in spotlights? So much classier than bog standard ones if you can fit them in!

It's going to be a lovely space. Really like the idea of the bookcases. Another idea would be to have these with a warm white LED strip built in (under a nosing, say), so the books are downwashed with light. (I'm doing this in my house).

Thanks for the reply.

I absolutely love the idea of strips downlighting the books.

Do you think that would be enough for lighting or would i need other lights overhead?

I want to avoid spots as i think the dimensions and gloss floors for reflections might look a bit like a runway

It depends how bright you need it to be for practicality/safety!! It might be wise to put some kind of pendant in as well.

What about double led spots with swivels (like these) so you can point them at the bookshelves to avoid the runway look?

Forgot to add the pictures...

I’d put in glass pendants. Something like this.

I have those Jim Lawrence pendants in my kitchen and larger ones in my dining room. They are lovely but a bugger to keep clean. If you use them you will need them hung at a level that enables you to clean them a couple of times a week.

The double led lights are a really good solution to the problem but i'm nit overkeen.

I absolutely love those glass pendants they are stunning. I think i'd better measure ceiling height tomorrow as i can't really visualize (we are staying elsewhere as its a bombsite).

One of the builders has suggested flat led panel lights 40cm square and 5mm deep so it would almost be invisible lighting and nothing would stop the visual down the corridor, but i've never seen it in a domestic house and i wonder if its too commercial looking. Has anyone encountered them in real life.
