Ikea kitchen fittings

I want to put storage drawers etc inside my non ikea kitchen units. Will it work? The picture shows cabinets with predrilled holes down the sides, my cabinets don’t have them. Presumably I could just mark where the holes would need to be, and make a fine drill hole?

Basically, I have so little storage, I need to fit the cupboards out differently.

Ikea carcasses are deeper than others, so their full size drawers might be too deep for your cabinets. The website gives the dimensions, they do a deep drawer that is 45cm deep that might fit, also a 37cm deep drawer in shallow, medium and deep sizes.

I would search the drawers on Ikea and measure your cabinets to see what you can fit in.

Yes, I’d have to measure for a best fit. I was thinking of the wire baskets.

You can get wire baskets for normal non ikea units although they aren't quite as cheap.

AIBU to fucking love the mug cupboard? Grin Mrs, I doth my cap to you.

MrsBossyPants · 21/11/2017 07:40

Thank you Smile It wasnt hard to do, just measuring and drilling holes in the cupboard. I’d like to tell you that we dont use many of the 30 mugs in there...but i’d be lying - its empty every other day!
Oh and that drawer above the mugs? Its FULL of teaspoons GrinGrin

I’m partial to a cuppa myself, inspired by your commitment to mugs and spoons. Although neither DH or I are remotely competent enough to drill holes or screw things. Unless it’s screwing up. We can both do that pretty well. Currently in to our 4th year with net curtains at the front of the house.Blush

I’m going to have to polish up my diy skills, there are so many great solutions in there. Eek.

I might hire a man. And get a lot. Ooh, I’m excited.

Can I just recommend the spice rack fitted to the inside of a cupboard door? I did that on the door over my boiler, genius.
