Insulation above toilet

Bah - our ceiling has just fallen down in the toilet on first floor. So need to replace. Just trying to work out any insulation, if any, needed. I happen to have some wood fibre insulation in the garage. But on reading on the internet, it seems it's not necessary for warmth but one might want to consider sound insulation. Above is an old bathroom in the loft that we only use in emergencies, and might get around to doing it up one day, or might not. Therefore, I haven't experienced any noise issues since no one is up there. Any advice of insulating, or just wack up any old piece of plasterboard?

I'm no expert but the Collins DIY manual I've just consulted doesn't suggest you need to insulate ceilings generally if you aren't worried about sound proofing.
