Our first floor flat is subjected daily to kitchen smells emanating from Ground Floor flat which is located below us and was refurbished a couple of years ago by fly by night developers for a quick sale, (Victorian conversions) .
Kitchen was resited which now causes adverse affects on other neighbours (all cooking/kitchen smells are coming through into above first floor flat and even the flat above first floor flat!). Moreover the developers are not able to sell this Ground Floor flat because they do not comply with fire regulations.
We (myself and other flats) are now trying to find a specialist or engineer to find the causes of these smells so that we can get the developers to rectify. We have contacted Building Control; radio silence. The developers were very economical with the truth when they submitted the plans to the Council.
What kind of specialist/engineers do we we need to approach for these kitchen/cooking smells? Structural engineers ? air quality specialist?
