Hot water not consistent - Bath

Please help Sad

Live in a rented flat, been here for about 4 months now.

The shower pressure is terrible, so I've taken to having a bath most nights instead, all fine. Last few nights however, the water coming out of the tap comes out hot, then goes cold, so adjust the tap, repeat. Not staying hot long enough to get a warm bath going!!!! (And I've just wasted my nice bubble bath)

I will message the landlord tomorrow but if there anything obvious that could be fixed straight away?!

The hot water comes from a combi boiler (I think)

My guess is that the water is coming out of the tap faster than it can be heated. Try not having the tap fully turned on, will take longer to fill but will hopefully be hotter!

you've got a combi, haven't you.

they do that.

yes, slow down the flow from the taps, but it might be a boiler fault.

Fill a bucket from the hot tap (1) full on (2) at the rate that gives the hottest water. Time it. Calculate how many litres you get at each setting.

this will give some idea of what's going on.

Do you live in a house or purpose-built flat? Does the water flow or pressure noticeably fluctuate, e.g. when someone turns on a tap of flushes a WC?

Look for the boiler model, it might be in the flap on the front.

btw it will be worse in winter.
