And we don't have it! Does anyone know if I can shove it on a credit card for a week (post completion there will be a surplus) or just go into OD? Not sure if my parents have or could lend?

We had to pay when we exchanged
Had no choice but to use the credit card so had to pay the fee

Credit card was what I used, my removal firm did not charge an additional fee.

It's worth using a credit card in any case as the extra fee makes the credit card company jointly liable with the removals company for guaranteeing what you paid for.
