Ceramic sink in laminate worktop?

Hi everyone
We are currently having a new kitchen and utility room put in, and we will be using our old kitchen sink in the utility room. The old kitchen sink is a ceramic sink which sits on top of the worktops like the one in the photo. Is this ok to use with a laminate worktop? As far as I understand it, it’s the undercounter Belfast sinks that are unsuitable for laminate worktops, is that right? Because they can’t be properly sealed?

I have a sink almost identical to that in a laminate worktop no problems whatsoever!
